Matt brought us some Easter egg dye kits from the U.S. since they don't have anything like that in the stores around here. He even traipsed all over town of his own accord and found us a dozen white eggs to boil. The only eggs I have seen here are the brown ones and they are sold straight from the unrefrigerated shelf. The kids had fun decorating the eggs...
You can tell which ones were the brown eggs! It didn't help that Addy's kit was "pirate princess" and one of the colors was grey. So the grey and the brown kind of turned into mud brown eggs.
Easter morning the bunny came and brought some Oriental store Easter baskets and hid the eggs in the apartment.
Cassy vetoed her Easter basket photo...
In Spain they don't really have any traditions like coloring eggs and the Easter Bunny. There wasn't hardly any special Easter candy. I did see one end cap at the Corte Ingles that had some Lindt chocolate bunnies and Kinder eggs, but that was all. I was going to stop by and grab some bunnies, but all the stores and grocery stores were closed from Thursday until Monday. There were no signs posted saying they would be closed or when they would open again. Luckily, the Chinese shops were open so we could get some bread and cheese milk (which is about all the food they sell besides pop and candy). The focus is definitely on Semana Santa which is so beautiful. I will write another post about Semana Santa later. Happy Easter!
